Great News!!

I finally talked sis into gettin those ears pierced. YEAH!!!!

Christmas 2008

Hello to all. So sorry I have not been updating. It just seems like time just flys. Hope everyone had a great Christmas as we all did. My crazy kids posed for a Christmas pic. How sweet are they??? lol The kids got lots of gifts. Pretty much what they all wanted. Breckyn got a big interactive Step 2 kitchen that is awesome, and after opening santa gifts, she cried cause she did not get red lipstick that was on her list. Probably the only thing not gotten on her list. Girls!!! I did not go and buy any either. I had to explain that santa must not of thought red lipstick was appropriate for little 5 year old girls.
The boys got there special scooters, sports, and hunting stuff they wanted.
Kerestin got her bike, purses, telescope, and alot more I am not even typin.
Grandma and grandpa got them a Wii and boy are those things fun. They now have 10 games and there is always someone on it.

We are now on Christmas break and I am getting real wore out entertaining the kids. Its cold so they dont stay outside for to long. They have snow boots and are awaitin snow. Where is it???

Anyway, basketball season has arrived and I am coachin Kerestins team. I absolutely love it. I have alot of the same girls I did in softball, so it feels good to have them again. Games for everyone start Jan 3rd. I will update on how that is all going later on. Have a Happy New Year and drink one for me!!!

Kade at his game

FOOTBALL

Landon is the 2nd one in this row. #22
I think he is on the far end on this one on defense.

Update on football

Howdy to all, man, its hard to make time to keep up on this blog. I am cookin chili right now, so its easy enough, I can get away to the computer.
First off, Dirks surgery went well. He was suppose to be off work for 3 weeks, and of course, he was so worried about what was going on with the buildings he was in charge of, he went back to work today. Yeah, its only been a week. Doc ok it, with restrictions. He was fine with that. He was on the phone with work most of the time anyway.

The boys have been doing great with football, Landon has recovered from his sprained knee and is doin awesome. Kade played a great game on sat. and got most of the flags (flag football) on defense, thats my boy. He is quick on his feet when he wants to be.

School Days

Sorry, I have not been keeping up on this blog. When i do try to catch up, it seems so much has happened. So here is goes, the boys b day has past and they have started school. We also went back to the lake for Labor Day weekend. Breckyn loves her teacher, but she gets tearful when leaving me still. Landon has his first football game tom. we are real excited about that. He is loving middle school with the lockers and getting to class on time it has been something fun and new for him. Kerestin and Kade are loving seeing their friends and Kerestin is the first one up and ready in the morn.
I have partnered up with another daycare lady and have been doing my daycare out of her home. It has been nice cause I do not have to keep up with the cleaning at my own. Some days we have about 14 kids, so it gets real crazy. I do enjoy it though cause I can go to the school when I need to for my kids.
Dirk will be having neck surgery on the Sept. 18th. He has a few bad vertebra's that are being taken out and replaced by another bone and then fused. The process is called Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion. He has been having constant nerve pinching for the past year and cannot sleep at night. We have tried epidural shots, medication, and therapy. Surgery was the last option, of course several $1000 later. Don't you love how they get ya for everything when you know he needs surgery. Anyway, hope that everything is well and great with everyone. Until next time............Peace Out

Rockers family reunion

Here is a few pics from our Rockers family reunion. I was real bad about taking pics, but I did geta few.
Well, here i go again, trying to catch up on things. School starts the 18th, early this year, but I was told we get extra days off in the school year. Landon will be playing tackle football this year out of Emporia. His games will be every sat starting Sept. 6th. He has practice everyday for the next 2 months so I hope he is ready for that. He is one of the stockiest on the team so I was told he has a full back position. Yeah, what ever that means :) The other kids will probably start basketball in the next month. Ya! Right when you think things are slowing down, they begin to get worse. O well, we enjoy watching them. Mine and Dirks motto is "we don't watch, we play" well, with the exception of our children of course.

Going to family reunion

For those of you who are not aware of our family tradition, it all started at my cousin, Stacies, wedding. Several of us girls bought these funky church hats and wore them to her reception. It was a big hit and they were passed around the reception area and bar (people we did not know were wearing them.) I brought the memorablia to our Rockers family reunion. I think my daughters kinda like them too, or maybe there are just making fun of me. thanks girls

Papas 51st b-day (Dirks dad)

We had a get together at our house with some friends and family for his 51st.... as you can see, all the grand kids piled on top of him. He received a Garmin gps as a gift. Happy b-day papa.

Breckyns 5th B-day

Breckyn turned 5 July 28th, yes, I am late, I know. I am real bad about updating the blog. She got new skates she has been dieing for since her sister got new ones on her b-day in May. She got some skates, clothes, money, jewelery, pjs, hair stuff, and make-up. What a great day it was for her. Now she is talking about her next b-day already.lol

More lake pics

Lake of the Ozarks

We all had such a great time at the lake. The kids all went tubing, except Breckyn, but she did get off the boat to swim. Mom and dad went with us. Their dog, Sugar, also came along and was not sure of all that water. She soon figured it out and the poor girl was sore the next day. It was a short 3 days, but we plan to return in the next few weeks.

July

Hows everyone doing? Sorry I have not been keepin up on the blog lately. Been real busy. The last 2 weekends we have been spending it with Kade at his baseball tournaments. He has been doing so great being catcher and playing 2nd base. He received gold metals at both tournaments. What a way to end the season! Although, the season was already over, he played on a traveling team, which was well worth it.
The kids are in bible school all this week from 6-8:30pm, been real nice without kids for awhile. I been spending this time at the rec catching up on the 5 lbs I gained the prior 2 weeks. Sometimes, I think I will never catch up.
We will be going on vacation at Lake of the Ozarks at the family cabin this week, so I will take some pics. Until the next post, have a great summer!

Good times

Kerestin had her 8th b-day party at the Roller Rink. The kids had a great time.
Landon is 11 and in the 6th grade. He enjoys all sports. He is a great pitcher and catcher. He loves wrestling and football too. Often you will see him on his rip board outside.
Kade is 9 and in the 4th grade. He enjoys everything his big brother does. He is a great 1st baseman and catcher. You will find these boys glued to the TV when WWF is on the tube.
Kerestin is 8 and in 3rd grade. She loves sports too and is a great 2nd baseman. I had a great time coaching her and look forward to it again next year. She swims every chance she gets. She loves makeup and clothes. I find myself asking "Why are my girls this way?" There mama ain't like that.

Canoe trip

Dirk and I took a canoe trip this year at River Ranch Resort in MO. It was so much fun. I dont think I have ever laughed so much in a long time. We went with about 18 other people and stayed in a large cabin. It was so nice and peaceful to be out with nature and no children. We hope to do it again.

Baptism

The kids got baptised the day after Mothers Day. They were so excited about it. The church gave them their very own bible with there names engraved on it so that they would never forget this day.

Fun at the lake

Puppy Hodge

We love our big baby Hodge. He is a 2 year old Mastiff. He is a big teddy bear that is afraid of everything. He thinks he is little and loves to cuddle. He weighs about 200lbs and has been the best dog ever.

Breckyn graduated from preschool this year and we are very proud of her. It has been a great 2 years at Trinity Church. She is very sad to leave her teacher, Miss Tina. We have been doing some convincing that next year she will get a new teacher and it will be even better in kindergarten. She is not sure about that, but is willing to try.
She keeps the family laughing with her funny sense of humor and she changes her clothes several times a day. Yes, the teenage madness has already started for the soon to be 5 year old kindergartner.
